Hello, my name is
Halyn Chang
User Experience Designer & Deliverer
About me
Hi, I'm Halyn. A London-based UX designer.
My hunger for growth drives me to design and deliver experience
I’m a London-based UX designer with a strong background in both B2B and B2C environments, including running my own start-up. With extensive knowledge in product and marketing, I bring a wide-ranging skillset that enables me to envision the big picture and discover the optimal solutions for my team and users alike.
I believe ‘delivering experience’ is as important as ‘designing experience’, the philosophy drives me to consider every aspect when designing and creating a unique experience that fits both user’s needs and business purposes. Using my experience and training, I strive to pursue my passion for understanding people and designing for good.

I work as a freelance designer and have experienced different types of projects, such as fitness, film, massage studio, gaming and IT. I focus on their business goals, define users' pain points and design experiences. I focus on website flow and information structure and advised on marketing and product development in order to create a comprehensive solution for businesses to add extra value.
2017 - 2021
SCOPERS
London
Product Designer / Marketing & PR DIRECTOR
I started my business "SCOPERS" as a co-founder in 2017. The business provides exclusive walking tours, day tours and private tours for Mandarin-speaking travellers. With our motto, "There's no must-see, other than the place you need to be", the travellers will experience the most "glocal" time in the UK. The successful branding and product strategy also attracted diverse groups including backpackers, business trips, family trips, high-end customised tours and groups.
2016 - 2017
Kingston University London
Researcher
I authored a 13,000-word dissertation "Experiential marketing implemented in history-focused museums to attract different socio-economic groups" and summarised it as a guideline. Based on six qualitative interviews, I found out how the curators design each element to create something both fun and knowledgeable, in a way that ensures different social groups receive the same level of experience.
2016 - 2017
Start Me Up
London
UX researcher
We designed a product called "Cutcorner Cardholder" based on a design thinking framework. Based on 50+ interviews with commuters in London, we found out what problems they face daily while travelling and we designed a cardholder into which they can insert cards easily and avoid card clash.

Topic: <Travel Experience Design and Travel Market in the UK>
Event: RTM Asia Travel Tech & Culture Branding Forum
Size of Audience: 200+tourism-related specialists
I was invited to this international forum, which lasted for three days. Over 40 experts in the travel industry from all over the world attended and talked about how the travel industry has developed in each region.
I was honoured to be chosen as a speaker representing the UK, and had the opportunity to share my knowledge about the nature of the tourism industry in the UK, as well as my experience: how to create a “glocal” experience”, how to design the travel details and how a small travel company finds its niche market.
Topic: <Embrace Your Impossibility – From Language Learner to start-up entrepreneur>
Location: Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages
Size of audience: 50+ university students
I chose Japanese as my major at university – which people might find to be quite far from the business world. However, as a student graduating from the faculty of arts, I acquired invaluable knowledge of cultural concepts and developed unique travel products based on it. In this speech, I talked about how studying literature, culture and language helped me in designing great travel experiences.
Topic: <Integrated Marketing Communication>
Location: Hamaster Technology
Size of audience: 15+ tech company employees
I was involved in a series of digital marketing lectures for a group of tech company members, including creative writing, TA research, competitor research, SEO strategy, digital ads, social media strategy and traffic analytics. As a part of the project, I also offered advise on the participants’ personal projects so they could implement the marketing strategy in a practical way.

Topic: <How to Design Products and Deliver to Customers>
Location: National Chia-Tung Agricultural Vocational Senior High School
Size of audience: 45 high school students in the Dept. of Farm Management
I gave a public speech for high school students who have been developing their own farm products and selling them online/offline. I reviewed how they guided the visitors to their farm and how they connected this guiding with their products. It was a meaningful session as the school is located in rural area and lacks resources and knowledge. My speech helped the students start to selling products online and help more people become aware of them.
